Art Club - Contact Mrs. Sundquist for more information

Art Club is an after school, extracurricular activity for all fourth grade students. Permission slips go home late November. Art club starts after winter vacation (January). We meet every Thursday from 3:00 until 5:00.

In years past Art club has created some wonderful projects:

  • 2013-We focused on Duck Tape. Everything from Duck Tape vests to Duck Tape Pillows!
  • 2012-We used Sculpey (a polymer, oven cooked clay) to make jewelry and containers
  • 2011-As a team the Art club built and painted a larger than life Winneconne Wolf (paper mache)
  • Art club members create several projects per year.

Drama Program  - Contact Tim Phillips for more information

The Winneconne Community School District drama program is dedicated to bringing the joy and power of drama to students by providing high quality dramatic programming for our students. Our program offers participants the chance to experience the excitement and rewards of the performing arts while developing poise, social skills, confidence, and the ability to work with others.

Peer Helpers - Contact Ms. West or Mrs. Achterberg for more information

Peer helpers are students who make a positive difference at school and in the community. They are proven role models who have leadership potential, a willingness to serve others, and a commitment to learning. Peer helpers engage in learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Students are nominated by their peers and staff at the end of fourth and seventh grade. The criteria for selection is based upon their leadership potential, respect for adults and peers, and ability to find creative ways to help their peers solve problems.

Safety Patrol - Contact one of the advisors here for more information
WES safety patrol is a AAA certified organization. Safety patrol members are current fifth graders. Students who are interested in safety patrol are chosen in the spring of fourth grade. Members are chosen based on teacher recommendations. Students that receive a recommendation have demonstrated integrity, responsibility, and leadership qualities in the classroom and around the school.

Safety Patrol members work hard to keep all students safe as they travel to and from school. We work closely with the Winneconne Police Department to ensure the safety of everyone at WES.
